Tomoe Gozen was a female warrior who served under the Minamoto clan and was renowned for her fearless courage in helping to defeat the enemy. She died in 1247 but her legend has been celebrated in literature and music, as well as modern-day animation.
This is one of twenty-two silkscreen prints from Takeda’s Genpei Series. They were exhibited in the artist's solo show at the British Museum in 1993. The Genpei Wars were a conflict during 1180-1185 between two feudal clans - the Minamoto clan and the Taira clan, with the former victorious. These images depict some of the samurai legends who fought in the battles.

We can arrange delivery however the cost will vary depending on the destination, size, weight and value of the artwork. Some works cannot be delivered due to their size or fragility.
