This image from a kabuki theatre scene depicts a beautiful court lady who is actually a nine-tailed fox in disguise. She captures the heart of the Emperor but her disguise is discovered. She escapes, turning back into a fox and disappearing as a spirit.
Hiromitsu Takahashi (b. 1959), known as Hiromitsu, works in “Kappa-zuri” – a traditional Japanese form of stencil printing. He is one of only a few artists currently working in this challenging technique. Many of his prints depict artists from Kabuki theatre.

Contemporary artwork Works can be collected from Watts Gallery, Compton, GU3 1DQ. We can arrange delivery however the cost will vary depending on the destination, size, weight and value of the artwork. Some works cannot be delivered due to their size or fragility. Please enquire by emailing lynn.lear@wattsgallery.org.uk (working days Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday).

Duties, Tax and Service Charges
If your delivery address is not within the United Kingdom, you may be subject to import duties, taxes and delivery service charges, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country.
