The fire in Peter Brookes remains undimmed, and this exhibition demonstrates this country’s greatest political cartoonist at the peak of his powers.

Peter Brookes has been a political cartoonist for The Times since 1992. After training as an RAF pilot, he attended and taught at the Central School of Art in London. He was then a Visiting Lecturer at the Royal College of Art for ten years. He joined The Times as a political cartoonist and illustratorin 1982 and became its full-time political cartoonist a decade later.He was a cover artist for TheSpectator from 1986 until 1998 and has also contributed to theNew Statesman,Marie Claire,Cosmopolitanand theTimes Literary Supplement. Among his many honours, he has won the British Press Awards cartoonist of the year eight times, most recently in 2017. The same year, he was appointed CBE for services to the media.
