Whole Closed Horsechestnut

Penkridge produce a variety of Horsechestnut shells, all are life size. The shells are made in clay which is then glazed and hand painted. Some have removable nuts and some have lids which can sit on top of the shell or can be displayed alongside the main shell, as if it has fallen from the tree and split open.

Some of the shells have stalks, these are cast in pewter which is then hand painted. The metal stalks add strength and also enables us to join multiple shells together on a pewter branch, so we offer both double and triple shells on a cast pewter branch.
