The 'Snug' was sort of all-pirpose fore-kitchen at 244 High Street, the family home of the Dunbars from 1913 to 1924, Florence, Evelyn's mother , is peeling apples, watched by her 15 year old daughter. The easel in the background is Florence's and the 'snug' served as Florence's studio, as well as for multiple other tasks.
