Sam Marshall- Weasel, Polecat and Stoat

£90.00

Sam Marshall began print-making over 15 years ago – originally training at the Slade School of Fine Art and completing her studies at the Royal Drawing School with an MA diploma in drawing. Originally from the flat fend of Lincolnshire, where her Dad was a cabbage farmer, Sam spent over 20 years living in London. Recently she has relocated to rural Northamptonshire with her mini dachshund Miss Marple and now concentrates on making her own prints and running print workshops. She also teaches printmaking at the Royal Drawing School.
Sam’s inspiration comes from many sources – medieval bestiaries, folk art, children’s book and unusual real life animals. The aesthetic of British artists such as Eric Ravilious and Edward Bawden have also been important, and Sam is a great admirer of 19th-century ceramicist William De Morgan – particularly his fantastical animals and birds.
