Peter Shread- Adams Hill- Clent

Peter Shread was born in Birmingham, trained at Mosley School of Art and worked as an art teacher for many years. Having taken early retirement he was able to pursue his own interests in painting and print-making. He has since shown in numerous group exhibitions and has had several solo exhibitions, including at Warwick University, Churchill College Cambridge, and Buxton Art Gallery. His work has featured at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition several times.
Peter makes woodcuts and linoprints. These are relief prints made by drawing a design onto a block and then cutting out the background with a knife and gouges. The finished block is then inked with a roller and printed in a press. A separate block is cut for each colour, and these are printed in sequence.
